Know the hour before you walk through the door
The unknown part is usually harder than the class. Here is the sequence this school is preparing to confirm with Professor Machado before publication.
Request a free classYour first hour
No hype and no mystery. One plain explanation for each part of the visit.
- Before What to wear
Wear what you already own.
Shorts and a t-shirt are fine. You don't need a uniform, a belt, or any equipment to try a class.
- -0:15 The door
Come fifteen minutes early. Someone will meet you at the door.
You won't be left standing in a lobby trying to work out where to go. Tell them it's your first class.
- 0:00 The warm-up
Warm up with everyone else.
Movement, not punishment. Nobody is watching to see whether you can keep up, because on your first day nobody expects you to.
- 0:20 The techniques
Learn two or three techniques, slowly.
You'll drill them with a partner who has done this before and who knows it's your first time. Questions are the point, not an interruption.
- 0:60 You go home
Then you go home.
No sparring. No sales pitch on the mat. If you want to come back, we'll talk about it then — and if you don't, that's a completely normal outcome of a free class.
Four simple steps
- 01
Choose your starting point
Tell us who the class is for. We will help match you to the right program.
- 02
Pick a class time
We will confirm a time from the published schedule before you travel.
- 03
Show up early
Come fifteen minutes early so there is time to check in and ask where to go.
- 04
Decide what is next
Try the class first. Afterwards, ask questions and decide whether you want to return.
